flowers drop on persimmons (forum)

Hi,
I have a very nice persimmons tree. Not very big and not old yet.
However, it looks perfectly healthy and well looked after but it drops flowers constantly. It looks like it does not tolerate a dry weather at all despite proper watering. Last year I had three fruits only and this year I expected a lot. Now I have the only flower left which may develop a fruit.
Is there any idea how to fix this problem, may be to plant another tree of a different variety. I do not know what I have now, but I bought it in Brisbane and would think it was suitable to the climate.
Thanks

Alena I also have a one fruit persimmon tree. After some years (4/5?) I was excited to see it flower and fruit last season then deflated when all but one dropped. However, the one fruit was perfect and perfectly delicious so I keep hoping. The tree was covered in flowers and baby fruit a couple of weeks ago then dropped a lot of them since. I think it might have happened when we had a heat wave of mid 30s. They are cool climate trees. I reckon that if you had three fruit once it will eventually find its bearing and perform better in time, with care.
I would also like to hear from growers of persimmons in Sydney if they have better yield.

Mine are doing well. I double planted Ichikekijiro and Nightingale for x-pollination, but the 'jiro flowers much earlier than the nightingale, so a bit of a fail on that front. They are tough once established but also a bat magnet. There are some big old ones in the inner city that fruit their heads off and get no love being in the yards of run-down share houses.
