Izzi Dole starts with ... Recently about three weeks ago I posted some photos of fruit trees in my edible garden consisting of mandarin, three varieties of gauva and banana. This is in reference to my article regarding edible fruit trees in my garden which i wrote in May last year. I cannot locate the article or the photos anywhere on this page. I wonder what's happened? Anyway i have a question about the banana bush which is about 20 years old and is a cross between i reckon a sugar banana and a cavendish. As seen in the photo looks very healthy. As it starts to ripen the outer skin turns yellow and cracks open and the flesh inside turns very soft and goes bad and some sort of bug seems to be nesting inside. Can someone please let me know why this happens and the remedy for it? At present I have about four bunches which should be ready to pick by autumn. Altogether there are about eight banana palms in this clump. | About the Author Izzi Dole Georges Hall 1st February 2014 10:54pm #UserID: 8017 Posts: 14 View All Izzi Dole's Edible Fruit Trees |
