I have just found myrtle rust on my beach cherry, which has delicious fruit. The treatments I found specified that they were for plants with non-edible fruit. Is there something I can use that is approved for edible fruit?

Short answer is no.
I found myself in the same situation two weeks ago. Have a look at the products listed. Some are already used on fruit crops...

Just an update on the Myrtle Rust on my Midgens(I've lost original thread), I thought I'd give a go to a product called 'Eco-fungicide'in conjunction with 'Eco-oil' before I tried some more conventional products. It is organically certified, and no withholding period required for edibles,as it's based on mainly potassium bicarbonate. It's been about 10 days or so since treatment - I noticed a few tiny yellow pustules a couple of days ago, but they seem to be developing much more slowly this time around.(And no spread to nearby plants - I'd given them a good dose for protection too.) As the weather has been dry, I think the product with the oil has remained adhered but is wearing off now. I'll re-spray today and see how it goes again, but at this stage I'm very happy with the product. I also sprayed my Mango flowers too the last time (anthracnose prevention), no adverse effects. Not sure how the product will stack-up when the rains return, but so far I'm happy.Hoping to (hopefully) largely knock the rust on its' head before it becomes entrenched in my yard. Hope this is of help to others.

I spray several fungicides every 10 - 14 days in retail and wholesale nursery rotating different action groups and we have a plethora of myrtaceae all clean as a whistle. the dry weather at the moment helps alot.

Copper oxy is probably the softest of the ones i use and i find even that is more a protectant than curative.

Monitor plants, ensure good air circulation and remove affected plant material (this can be done before spore is produced once you are familiar with the rust)

Thanks for advice. I'll definitely be more vigilant now. I'm going to try and stick to the 'softer' products, (even if I have to use more frequently), as my plants are edibles not ornamentals. See how it goes.

Had what I think is myrtle rust on a Chilean guava. Whole plant got it, except for one branch. Is it sport that was immune somehow because it was slightly genetically different to the rest of the plant?
