Anyone in WA with native pellitory seeds?
I am interested in attracting the yellow admiral butterflies to my garden!

Geographe Community Landcare Nursery in Busselton usually has them, you might need to contact them direct though.

Hey Snotty,
yellow admiral butterflys will also use the weed pellitory. Robert Powell showed me their cocoons on a weed growing in a lane behind the Cottesloe shops. So if you cannot get your hands on the native pellitory....

Robert Powell and I seeded native pellitory on Monument Hill. The butterflies meet at the tops of the highest hills to mate. Robert said they would arrive a 5pm and they did. Very punctual insects.

Haakon, thanks for the interesting info I will check it out. Pellitory On The Wall is probably the one you mean & even though its a weed I may chase some up. It got its name by being particularly difficult to remove from the ground close to stone walls where its roots will grow deep amongst them! OK, I googled Robert Powell & there a few so which one is he?

Phil, GCL nursery dont have any at the moment but thanks for checking it out!

The weed pellitory I am writing about looks just like the native one. It is pretty clear they are from the same genus.

Robert Powell is a bit of a Perth native plant legend. Author of Leaf and Branch and Tall Trees and Shrubs of Perth. Google "leaf and branch" and you will see who is is.
As for contacting him these days, no idea...
