I live in south texas. Humidity and heat at 100 degrees for the past two month. Planted a locally grafted avocado tree this summer. Added shale, cow manure, gypsum, and peat. Water every two days and let it soak for 10 min..painted all stems with white wash. Not sure if I have chemical burn, a disease, sun scorch.. I hope my avocado can be saved.

I believe it could be a combination of both chemical and sunburnt.
I would mulch heavily around the plant to prevent rapid water lost and also put up a shade cloth to protect it from the sun while its trying to recover.

Mary, at 100F and in full sun this avocado tree is getting burnt by the heat and sun. Watering will not help. The only thing I can suggest is to move it to a part shaded spot so that it won't get scorched by the sun at this temperature.

I agree with the above two responses.
I would suggest putting a cover over the tree, like in this article. It is routine in hot areas to do so.
Leaf burn looks like salt or fertiliser burn https://lakesideplants.com/plant-avocado-tree-2/
