Manda, I don't think the Rare Tree Co sells Fruit trees and I thought they had shifted from Mt Helena. I know people who live up there, if you want, I can get them to check it out.

So updating this link. I take it those two places linked above have closed?

That leaves local sources as Tass1, Lena, Wandilla, Dawsons, Bunnings, WAldecks, any other places that have fruit trees/berries/edibles that we people from WA should be aware of.

Also paper/quokka/ebay can somthimes have stuff for sale.

Any other ideas ?

Violet thanks for that. Daileys being the best choice for sure, thats why we are all here. Unfortunately shipment/quarantine and postage make Daileys a last resort for the hard/rare stuff for us for W.A. rather than the easy first choice.

By "paper" I meant the local newspaper and for sale section in the other papers.

The little nursery at Serpentine in the main street is small but has very healthy sun-hardened stock & is very reasonable price wise. Was there yesterday & she has pawpaws, kiwifruit, citrus etc-all really good stock & as a bonus Karen is a nice lady running a small friendly business in a lovely little town -nice day trip from Perth-great shop over the road 'Blue Moon Collectables for a browse while you're there. Phone for opening times first as she varies them with the season-0418956349

Also, not really Perth but pretty close now the freeway's opened-a nursery Mish plugged on another topic-Meadow Springs Garden Centre- behind City Farmers on Hampton Street. I went for a 'look' & ended up buying my sawberry guava there. It too had healthy stock.

but Serpi is my favourite!=like the drive through the country to get there.

Hi anyone locally please help me!!!
I realy need a supply of pawpaw leaves in order to try to help cure my cancer.
the benifits of these leaves have for years been known. I require the leaves to boil for 2 hours to drink as water 3 time /day, as a last chance in my cure for cancer.
Hope this works so if anyone will allow me the use of their tree within 30 km around perth area or close by i will be forever thankful.

Hi Jenny

Hopefully someone local can offer you some leaves. You could also try any of the nurseries that stock papaya such as Tass1. I was told (not confirmed by my own eyes) the other day that there is a couple of large trees in a front yard in Lefroy Rd in Beaconsfield. It might be worth knocking on their door given your situation.

all the best

Sorry Jenny I cant help with the pawpaw leaves though the carica group which also include Babaco & mountain papaya seem to have similar essential papain content that is recommended for people with pancreatic disease so that would broaden your scope somewhat. meanwhile you cannot go wrong eating asparagus every day & drinking turmeric & ginger tea. Also check out mangosteen/xanthones in www.pubmed.com
& get back to me if you wish to try the juice.
best wishes.

u can always try cultivate them yourself. What I do is get a pawpaw from the supermarket(make sure its seeded) and plant them into the ground. They grow quite easily and there are 5 trees in my garden now.

I highly recommend Blooming Nursery in Jandabup for Perth people - their prices are so reasonable that i've gone broke after discovering them. And they have all the hard to find trees/plants etc.
