judyc starts with ... I have always thought of pawpaw and papaya as being the same type of fruit but having just looked up both on wikipedia it would appear that I am wrong. It says that pawpaws are in a totally different family and are a berry. Picture shows both fruit and flowers and leaves as totally different. Can anyone shed light on this? | About the Author judyc Mareeba 1st March 2009 7:26am #UserID: 2029 Posts: 2 View All judyc's Edible Fruit Trees |
denise says... In the USA (a third world country somewhere in North America) what they call pawpaw is thier native edible fuit in the custard apple family. They have a song that goes ----Pickin' up pawpaws, put em in a basket------- When writing or talking with them remember that thier name for our pawpaw (Carica papaya) is Papaya. You need to use some sign language and talk slowly so they can understand our more pure english. | About the Author denise4 auckland kiwiland 1st March 2009 2:26pm #UserID: 1929 Posts: 73 View All denise4's Edible Fruit Trees |
