Pear not growing (forum)

Adrianna Cooper starts with ...
I planted my tropical pear in Autumn but it hasnt grown actually it hasnt done anything it's sdtill a stick it's not dead just hasn't done anything its still a stick any hints please help

1)was the ball root system very tight when it was in the pot. If you think it was then gently pull it out and break it up and replant it.
2) Are the feet wet. eg did you water to much when you planted it.
3) Have you fed it correctly. I do not know where you are or what type of soil you have but you may just need pot ash.
If not none of these then I sugest you read the notes I gave yesterday for a cherry tree. Large small trees need to be cut back by a third when planted. The root system is inadequate to handle the tree as is when replanted. Therefore your tree may stay like that until the next growing season while it builds up the root system.

thanks for the tips but I think it has now died. So I might have to replace it, gets a little costly all my other trees are doing great.
