Pecans and cohabitors (forum)

KP starts with ...
Hi, I am constantly reminded that Pecans are SO alleopathic, but googling seems to suggest that a number of plants will grow happily with them. We have Pecan (cape fear) and Pecan (shoshonii) planted near syzygiums and macadamias and bamboo - all of which are barely 1m tall at the moment (other fruit trees are at least 10m away). Can anyone suggest if these trees will suffer re proximity to the Pecan?

Im also interested in this KP yesterday I planted a shoshonii peacan about 6m away from a white mullberry & I had planed to plant a H2 macadamia near it as well

Ady, you should be okay with teh mulberry I think. I did read that mulberries are okay under black walnuts- which the pecan is related to - and as the pecan is less alleopathic than walnut...one can but hope!

Thanks Ccs for the links,
I am now tempted to tempt fate with my trees given that Pecan juglones seem a lesser evil than those attributed to many of its relatives. In about 5 years or so, I may remember to give an update re nearby tree health!
