Why doesn't my lovely old pepperina tree produce peppercorns? We have seen them on other trees, but ours never has any.
Thanks.

How many trees do you have ?
How far away is the nearest other peppercorn tree ?
I noticed quite a few single trees on old farms in the Mallee, thinking now havent seen much pink fruit over the years.
According to this,
scientific name Schinus molle
Male and female flowers occur on separate plants (dioecious).[4] Flowers are small, white and borne profusely in panicles at the ends of the drooping branches.[5] The fruit are 5–7 mm diameter round drupes with woody seeds.

Maybe you can check this further.
You can work out if your plant has male flowers, female flowers ( or both, sometimes M and F flowers on the same plant wont self pollinate )
You could try to bring in pollen from another tree at flowering time, or graft the opposite partner onto a branch.

Thanks heaps for the info. I thought it may be something like that as it is the only pepperina tree on the property of 72 acres. I'll have to look into finding out if it is a male or female or both and get a complimentary tree to pollinate.
Thanks again.
