Persimmon leaf loss

    4 responses

frenchie starts with ...
I am contemplating buying a persimmon to use as a shade tree in a spot where I will want the winter sun.
I live in Northern NSW and I was wondering what time of the year the leaf loss would be likely occur up in our climate. I am thinking of Nightingale.
Thanks!

Leaf loss is about April in Gold Coast Hinterland. Maybe similar or a touch earlier for you.

The leaves start budding in September. I have a Fuyu and Jiro, both considered early varieties, but the Jiro seems the earliest of the two . This may be influenced by where I've planted though, as the Fuyu is on a South facing slope, the Jiro on a West facing slope.
