Pomegranate dead or alive?

    4 responses

I'd bought my pomegranate Gulosha Rosavaya from Daleys in June, followed all the instructions but there are no leaves yet.
My neighbour's pomegranate Wonderful is flowering. Could it take more time for Gulosha Rosavaya before new growth begins?

My rosavaya down here in melbourne has leaves and is currently sprouting new growth. Seems a little odd yours up in brisbane has done anything yet. Hmmm.

Mine is also in melbourne now full of leaves but no flowers yet. In Brisbane it should be faster than ours. Ask daleys.

Hi Olga,
I have three pomegranates: a wonderful, a Gulosha Rosavaya and a Jativa. All three have had leaves since about August and are covered in new growth and flowers.

I wouldn't give up on it, but try snapping a bit of a small branch and see if it seems to have green, bendy live wood or if it is brittle and dead.

Good luck.

Diana.

My Elcite from Daleys is flowering as well. Yes, check to see if it's still alive. If it is, it may still sprout. Trees can respond differently depending on climate, location, soil etc. etc...
