Linton starts with ... Gathered a few Snuffbox fruit that were lying on the ground while snooping around the Snuff Box Tree but unsure of how to eat them. There were many still hanging on the tree that looked very decorative but I have no idea how to tell if they are ripe, so the ones from the ground are probably the best to try for ripeness. Please advise if you have any information in this regard. Most reports seem to indicate that Snuffbox fruits are not so good for eating. If that's the case I can always use them to make cute little round boxes to put things in. By the way, it's Oncoba spinosa. Thanks for listening...

Linton says... Hi Denise, thanks for the tips I will try it. Now I have cut one of the snuff boxes in half and ate it. The orange coloured flesh was soft and moist. Didn't notice much almond flavour but it had more of an orange rind taste. Not unpleasant, just bland and I wouldn't be rushing back to try more. Happy Easter!
