southern limit for coconutting..

Hi out there,
Can any body tell me how far south coconuts will fruit? I am just north of Byron Bay and thinking of giving some 'short stature ones' a try.

At the moment there is a fruiting one ( fruit the size of elongated grapefruits) and at least another one flowering at TFW at Duranbah - not too much north of you. I guess the micro-climate has to be right though.

Guy I've contacted in Innisfail has some that he says grow well at North Stradbroke. He has them sprouting too so no great wait!
