Mine looks to have an iron deficiency so maybee they like acidic soils. i will lower the pH with ag sulphur and see what happens.

Love this tree. Very pretty and can stand cold, windy, exposed sites. Unusual tasting fruit. Sweet but pasty. Takes a while to get used to but very yummy. Sweet,delicate and best eaten straight off the tree as soon as it turns red.

Planted 3 years ago on well drained slope and has been fruiting since December. Still flowering and fruiting in March with constant supply of ripe fruit. Note that flowers dropped last season without fruiting, but lots this season.
