Tangelo - Minneola (Grafted) 8/10 Homegrownsbest's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2410 days 18hrs Comments: - Too young to tell. Just planted. It's currently in full sun. I water almost daily depending on weather. I planted in a 75 litre planter bag with a big bottom layer of course grade pine bark then kind of equal amounts of good quality potty mix, coir peat, perlite and a shovel of organic pellets mixed through. A really good layer of small pine bark on top. Can't wait to try these babies :) Update Oct 19 - Prolific fruiter, so many fruit on such a small tree. Last season fruit were huge, juicy and beautiful. This season fruit was a lot smaller, at least half the size. I put that down to having to restrict water a lot more due to the drought. Still plenty of fruit but they just werent as big or as delicious. Citrus are very hungry and thirsty plants and this year the reduced water was showed in the fruit of my Tangelo. Blueberry - Biloxi (Cutting) 10/10 Homegrownsbest's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2410 days 18hrs Comments: - Had some nice blueberries off the Biloxi, not as big as the Misty, though it's still very young. I've started to (with all my blueberries) remove the flowers and concentrate more on plant growth. I've pruned several weeks ago and already there is new growth. It's currently in full sun (I'm in Ipswich Qld so some fearce summer days) which I'm finding for most of my blueberries the 13 hours a day full sun is just too much to bare so I'm in the process of building a frame to net to assist with some relief from that afternoon sun (and birds of course when fruiting). So I'll see what happens over the coming months. I water almost daily depending on weather. I planted in planter bags and raised garden beds with a BIG bottom layer of course grade pine bark then equal amounts of peat moss, coir peat, and perlite and a really good thick layer of small pine bark on the top. I have 5 berries in the raised garden beds but am about to repot to planter bags as its easier to maintain PH levels, water, feed and relocate if needed to meet different weather conditions, or if you just change your mind which I am prone to do :) 5/12/16 - UPDATE: What a little beauty the Biloxi has turned into! Fruiting like a champion and just beautiful. Got about 3kg off this so far and it's still full of fruit. Just finished completely netting the Blueberries today as birds are becoming a real pest! About 1 metre high now and getting quite bushy. I pruned really well last season before I transplanted from the raised garden beds to the planter bag and its never looked back. Feeding with an organic acid loving slow release fertilser and a Seasol tonic monthly. Watering about every 2nd day (except in this heatwave, it's been most days) and less in Winter. Still in the planter bag and going great guns. I do have many beneficial pollinators for the Biloxi in close proximity which has probably played a significant role in the higher yield. Lime - Tahitian (Grafted) 8/10 Homegrownsbest's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2410 days 18hrs Comments: - Planted about July 2015 in a 50cm pot. Going well, has about 3 small fruit. It's currently in full sun. I water almost daily depending on weather. I recently repotted it into a 75 litre planter bag with a BIG bottom layer of course grade pine bark then kind of equal amounts of good quality potty mix, coir peat, perlite and a shovel of organic pellets mixed through. A really good layer of small pine bark on top. Accidently purchased thinking it was a dwarf. Oh well I'll just have to ensure I keep up with the pruning :) Planted: 2015 Height 40 Centimetres Growing: In a Pot Qty: 1 First Fruited: 1 Months from Purchase in Pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: organic pellets, osmocote citrus slow release Pest Control: none as yet Was this review helpful? Blueberry - Powderblue (Cutting) 5/10 Homegrownsbest's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2410 days 18hrs Comments: - Way too young to comment on the plant itself yet. Purcahsed mainly as a pollinator for my 2 Blueberry Britewell. It's getting a bit of a beating from the sun at present as you can probably see in the leaves. I planted in a planter bag with a BIG bottom layer of course grade pine bark then equal amounts of peat moss, coir peat, and perlite and a really good thick layer of small pine bark on the top. Planting in pots and planter bags I just find it easier to maintain PH levels, water, feed and relocate if needed to meet different weather conditions, or if you just change your mind on location, which Im prone to do :) Planter bags I found really reasonably priced at a plcae on the Gold Coast and they do deliver. Havent done much fertilising on the Powderblue as yet but tend to use rose, gardenia and azalea slow release (high acidity), coffee grounds and organic pellets.Height 40 Centimetres Growing: In a Pot Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Spring SpringPollination: Cross Pollination When I Fertilise: When Fruiting, Yearly, Winter, Spring Organic Status:Organic Was this review helpful? Dwarf Lemon - Meyer (Grafted) 9/10 Homegrownsbest's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2410 days 18hrs Comments: - Going great guns! Purchased about April 2015. I water almost daily depending on weather and fertlise about every 6 to 8 weeks. When fruiting is over I will be repotting into a 75 litre planter bag as I have with all other citrus and blueberries. Seems to be going well as it has about 12-14 fruit on it but it could do with some more room and better quality medium that provides better drainage. I've found that a good mix of pine bark, coir peat and perlite works wonders so the lemon will be getting that too when fruiting is finished as well as a prune. Planted: 2015 Height 1 metres Growing: In a Pot Qty: 1 Fruit Harvest: 12 Fruit Per Year First Fruited: 3 Months from Purchase in Pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Autumn, Winter, Spring Summer, Autumn, Winter, SpringPollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: organic pellets and osmocote citrus slow release When I Fertilise: When Fruiting, Winter, Spring Pest Control: none as yret Was this review helpful?
