Fig - Sandpaper Branny1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2651 days 7hrs Comments: - Brand new to my garden. I'm excited! Going into a pot with compost and a little organic slow release native fertiliser in there. Mulched heavily, given seasol and worm wee until settled. EDIT: Jan 2019. I left repotting a full fortnight after it arrived, and it was starting to look dreadful- too big for its little seedling pot. I ended up flicking all the soil off the roots, trimming the root stock back by half, and taking half the top off it, then repotting. Left out the fertiliser, and just used mild woodbark compost. Wondered if I'd killed it, as it lost a few leaves and sat looking sad for a few days, but then BOOM. It was off. Lovely little bushy thing. I'm calling it one of my tough nuts. Gets watered every few days, in a 20L pot which it is slowly filling, and in part shade- it gets sun from about 7-8am depending on season, and is in shade by 12. Have never fertilised, and it does great. Will be repotting when it starts to get cool, and I'll top dress with a mild fertiliser then. Qty: 1 Pollination: No Was this review helpful? Fig - Sandpaper (Cutting) 10/10 Frankenmango1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2938 days 11hrs Comments: - Fruited immediately after arrival, purchased from Daleys. First couple of fruit dropped off, placed it next to my fruiting local Ficus opposita for cross pollination. Resulting handful of fruit large (grape sized) and lovely tangy strawberry flavour. Fig - Sandpaper Birds Eye (Cutting) 10/10Russtrac1's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2985 days 3hrs Comments: - I purchased this tree from Daleys only a few weeks ago and it is already fruiting at less than a metre high! Nearly 10 figs I have counted, which is more than the leaves that are on the tree! Not sure whether they will drop or not, but I am quite astounded. Arrived in excellent condition, growing in large pot. Update: all but 2 figs dropped. But these 2 are almost full sized :) Planted: 2018 Height 40 Centimetres First Fruited: 0.2 Months from Purchase in Pot Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Water Given in: Spring Pest Control: Was this review helpful?
