The brittle thin skin is removed to reveal yellow/white flesh which has flavours reminiscent of Granny Smith apple, strawberry and pineapple. The small palm is very prickly, it has a tendancy to blow over in strong tropical storms where it reroots itself, so it can move from the place it was originally planted. Suited to tropical areas only not suitable for temperate climates.
