Sunshine Blue Blueberry Bush Plant By Tracie Hall [CC BY-SA 2.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/)] via Flickr https://flic.kr/p/9mF28y

Blueberry - Sunshine Blue

Sunshine Blue has it all. This semi-dwarf, versatile semi-deciduous blueberry features showy hot pink flowers that fade to white in spring, yielding large crops of delicious berries. Sunshine Blue tolerates higher pH soils better than many other blueberries and it is self-fertile. It is is a Southern Highbush with the low chilling requirement of 150 hours makes it suitable for the subtropics, but we find it is surprisingly cold-hardy and a wonderful addition to patios and gardens in cooler areas.

Macadamia Bush Nut By Esteban Salazar [CC BY-SA 2.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/)] From Flickr https://flic.kr/p/6afrKW

Macadamia Bush Nut

This was the first Australian native food plant to be grown by non-indigenous Australians as a commercial crop. Seedlings from the original plantation near Alstonville were used as rootstock for grafted modern varieties well into the 20th Century. Since the clearing of the Big Scrub the genetic diversity of this valuable nut species has been reduced significantly. Very hardy and easily grown along most of Australia's east coast and even down into Victoria.
