Medium sized nut with a smooth, thin shell. Tree is heavy bearing with good quality nuts. This grafted variety has a lower chill than most walnut varieties and has cropped well in the Subtropics.

Recently imported Tangor, with rich, sweet juicy flavour. The tree is moderate in size and vigor. Thin, smooth, orange rind that is easy to peel. The fruit is low-seeded in the absence of cross-pollination, but seedy when cross-pollinated. Flying Dragon modifies the top growth making this a dwarf plant that is ideal to use planted out or as a pot specimen. Trees will grow to about half the normal citrus size. Flying Dragon rootstock also adds cold hardiness and grows well in heavier soils, like Trifoliatia rootstock.

A north Qld native, this large rainforest tree has a spreading crown of large leaves. The brown fruit envelopes the highly nutritious nuts WARNING: The nuts should not be eaten raw as the toxin in the oil can induce nausea and vomiting. They are delicious roasted. Commonly used in Indonesian dishes, curry pastes and as a meat tenderiser. The early settlers found that the high oil content of the nuts enabled them to burn with a smoky flame for up to 20 minutes.Weed Warning: This large rainforest tree is a north Qld native, however it is a very vigorous self seeder and can cause concern outside of its local area, producing an abundance of the brown fruit.
