An outstanding small tree that prefers warm conditions and some shade. The sour purple fruits have bright red flesh that makes excellent jam. Davidsonia jerseyana is the southern form, it fruits in the summer months and is generally a smaller plant than the northern Davidsonia pruriens. The fruit form on the trunk of the tree and it is striking in full fruit.

Thrives in Brisbane and is tolerant to all weather conditions. Bears well and does not appear to be affected by fruit fly. Very attractive in the garden. I use them in jams, cordials, sauces and desserts - delicious - loved by all who taste!

The tree has had fruit . It loves native fertiliser but bust be low phosphorus . I experimented with some well aged cow manure and some blood and bone . A lot of leaves are burned IE: phosphorus toxicity . Dont use anything with high phosphorus content...
