A tropical tree producing a fruit that, when ripe, has dark red flesh that is sweet and juicy. The fruit itself can be up to about 8cm in diameter. The taste is somewhat between that of an apple and strawberry. The fragrant flower heads can also be cooked as a vegetable. Marula

Marula stones are very easily sprouted on their intended growing sites by completely enclosing them in fresh manure: that from cattle is preferred, but horse, rabbit, pig and chicken will suffice. Marula trees are very frost tender.

These love the heat. A friend has them in Geraldton WA. They are a pretty tree with blueish grey folage and grey bark. Ideal for Hot Dry sub/Tropical zones with minimal to no frost
