Has beautiful variegated leaves and Crocus-like flowers which emerge after dormancy before the leaves. Young leaves are eaten raw or cooked also the root tubers can be eaten cooked and are quite hot.

A highly rated variety that produces regular abundant crops of medium to large lychees. Fruits are sweet and juicy. Marcotted trees will produce first fruits in 2-3 years in good conditions. Trees will grow 2-5 metres and may be pruned to keep compact. Lychees grow in full sun with good drainage and need protection from wind and frost when young. Best suited to warm climates.

We have found by cincturing in summer, the August crop has a much larger crop and better fruit size.

The fruit has a pale orange skin that is inclined to be puffy. Excellent flavour however the fruit can be prone to drying if harvest is delayed. Loose skin that is very easy to peel. Most popular mid season variety.
