Texture is crisp and light we consider it an excellent fresh or dried variety. Fruit size 35-45mm. Developed at the Chico institute in California, this is an early fruiting variety. It is rarely eaten as a fresh fruit but is used to makes sauces, preserves and a popular yuzu vinegar. In Korea thinly sliced fruits are combined with sugar and honey to make a thick marmalade like syrup. Yuzu kosho is a spicy Japanese sauce made from green or ripe yellow yuzu zest, chillis and salt. The yuzu is more cold tolerant than most other citrus, being able to tolerate to -5 degrees

Fruit is typically a deep, brilliant red, but may vary from white to purple. Flesh colour is similar to outer colour, or somewhat lighter. Flesh is sweet and tart with berry flavours. Single seeded. Besides eating fresh, the fruits may be dried, canned, soaked in liquor. The bayberry is an evergreen dioecious tree with separate male and female plants. Our seedlings are not sexed and it is recommended to grow at least 3 to be assured of at least one female.

Dwarf Persimmon - Fuyu (NA)

Fuyu is a semi-dwarf variety, well suited to growing in small backyards and can be kept to 2m with pruning. The fruit is large and flat, orange-red in colour with a sweet, mild flavour. Great eaten crunchy but just luscious when left to go soft. Besides producing delicious fruit, Persimmons are highly ornamental with their beautiful autumn foliage. Non astringent, so can be eaten when still hard. When young, protect from hot afternoon sun, and when dormant, from wet conditions. Seedless when grown on their own. If cross pollinating with another variety they can have seeds in the flesh as shown in the display picture.

We love Calamansi.  We use it as cold or hot drink very refreshing.  We also use it as food seasoning sometimes add a bit of soy sauce.  I have 4x of this dwarf Calamondin.  I am happy when I purchased from Daley's it had fruits already.  Now this...
