trikus says... I have tried this fruit . It is in cultivation in Australia . Mate had some seedlings , but that was a long time ago . Bael fruit , or Aegle marmelos .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bael | About the Author Trikus Tully 15th December 2009 6:43pm #UserID: 930 Posts: 749 View All Trikus's Edible Fruit Trees |
Speedy says... It is around , but not common by any means. I know of one tree that I haven't seen fruit , but it's not in a good spot and not looked after. I had a go at growing from root suckers -without success - I didn't have the time to look after it. I had nice drink made from it in Sri Lanka where the tree is known as 'Belli'. In Thailand they make a drink with slices of the dried fruit. I think in Thailand they call the fruit 'Matoom' | About the Author Nth Vic. 15th December 2009 10:15pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
