Colin starts with ... Hullo, we have recently moved to a great acreage at Eudlo in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and having lots of fun with the garden, but can't identify some of our established trees. Can anyone tell us what this one is (3 pics attached). It's about 5 metres tall, and has come into fruit with three lobed pods turning red by the look of it Thanks in anticipation

Colin says... Thanks Justin, Juanita and vanl. I thought originally it was a Small leaf Tamarind (see www.daleysfruit.com.au/Small-Leaf-Tamarind.htm) but now not so sure. Took a fruit off this morning and each of the three lobes has a pea size seed in the middle surrounded by a clear sort of jelly. Ive also got a PINK EUODIA - (Meilcope elleryana) which isn't too common. It's currently got large green round fruit pods with a lovely citrussy smell. Does anyone know if they can be used culinarily. | About the Author Travelman EUDLO, QLD 4554 5th December 2008 1:37pm #UserID: 1729 Posts: 3 View All Travelman's Edible Fruit Trees |
