I have planted a Mango and Avo to close together and now they are growing into each other was wondering if I could make them one sided trees, sort of like a twin graft affair.

Renee1953 I don't see why not. All my trees are close together so I am forever pruning, though I tend to let them share airspace and only prune off one if two touch. The way you want to do it I imagine it would be like growing them against a wall except the 'wall' is another tree. :)

Ive got all my trees growing together ,alot companion planted. With all the trees being close you have to do some serious spade work during winter to stop the dominant trees roots becoming like parasites on young trees sucking the life out of them. You just start to notice why some trees are very slow to grow but dont realise that tree roots from adjacent tree is taking all the nutrient from younger tree. So in winter I sharpen the spade and also use a mattock with a axe blade and go around the perimeter of the trees and sever the roots. It keeps the trees under control .Its the work you have to perform for having a higher number of trees in a small area. This work must be done during the trees dormant period.
