Hi, I am from Germany and I did manage to germinate Passion fruit (P.Edulis) since January. Now is July the plant is still around 18 cm tall. It grows very slow. Any idea what is wrong or how I could speed up the growth?? Thanks

Perhaps you could pot it into a bigger pot now? Then when it starts to grow more you could use some fertiliser.

Are you in the tropical part of Germany or the part where it is way too cold for passionfruit?

But seriously- I assume you have raised your seedling under glass, possibly indoors with some heating. Now that it is summer there you will get a bit more growth. It will need full sun and with the longer day length you get you might be pleased with its performance over the next few months. As a vine, but probably not as a fruit producer.

You haven't told us what sort of passionfruit it is. Some demand more warmth than others, and even in parts of Australia where there might be frosts, more cold tolerant varieties are grafted onto non-fruiting cold tolerant rootstocks to give them a better chance to produce. The best-tasting varieties are tropical and if you are importing fruit, naturally you would import the best fruit you can buy.

Sad to say, your seedling probably won't produce.

I would have thought Germany was too cool for passion fruit. Are you in a very warm area?
