Sick Plum Tree

Hi Fruit lovers,
I'm experiencing some major problems with my Santa Rosa plum which I planted 18months ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All leaves have yellow spots on the topside, and what looks like black mould on the underside. (photos attached)

All leaves are affected, however those towards the base of the tree are dying first.

I thought it may have been a fungus so I sprayed with yates Copper fungacide a week ago, but has continued to deteriorate since. I have another plum (Mariposa) about 6m away that is not affected at all (fingers crossed). Obviously I don't want it to spread and I hope it is curable?

We have had a dry summer, but there are no other signs of stress all of the plants in the garden are growing fine.

Thansk agian in advance

That's one stressed tree. Kikuyu grass growing that close to the tree is your first problem.

Given the very dry conditions, looks to me like a young tree water/nutrient stressed triggering early dormancy.
Did it crop at all this year?

Hi Chris,
No fruit on either plums this year but they are only 2 years old. Plenty of peaches and apricots on nearby trees and it was watered throughout the summer.

50mm of rain yesterday, hopefully that helps.

The yellow spots and black underside I thought must of been some sort of disease?

Im not sure how much you want to spend but all my new trees are watered in with Nutrilife Platform .One heaped teaspoon per 10L .On average 2-3 10L containers per plant. For existing trees they only need one treatment as fungus spores will multiply in the ground. Its a fungus based nutrient and really kicks ass.If you want to do a google search its a mycorrhyzal fungus based product. There is good science behind this gear.
