I would like to know that as well.
For a start you can grow mango (seen in Freo), banana (seen in Safety Bay), paw paw (seen in Freo), macadamia (seen in Baldivis).
Clive Blazey (founder of diggers) puts Perth in a hot climate unlike most guides that put Perth in temperate. I agree with him. Most people I know grow potatoes in winter rather than summer for example.
In one of Clive Blazey's books he refers to a grower in the hills behind Armadale growing lots of tropical fruit including lychees.

I am in the hills not far from Armadale (but a bit colder at night)and there are plenty of avocado and mango growers around.
You can probably grow far more tropical fruits than I can, as it is warmer down your way.

Assuming you are near the coast, which most of Rockingham is, and you don't get frost you can grow nearly all the tropicals (or at least try) that are grown around Australia, except Nth Qld/NT.

I am trying roselles ( seeds from darwin) & snakebeans ( diggers). The roselles are growing well & bushing up nicely, but the cotylons on the beans are turning a mottled yellow. The first true leaves are appearing & seem to be ok.
I suppose "kensington pride' is the only mango worth contemplating for my area?

Hi snottiegobble - friends are growing R2E2 mangoes in Bunbury. Not sure what grub's are?
My mates neighbour also has a very impressive Hass avocado tree too...
I don't know about the beans tho' - I have never had any luck with them here - apparently they are one of the more salt sensitive of veggies....I have tried heaps of different varities also :-(
Maybe those first leaves are now "exhausted" after helping to grow the true leaves.. (just a guess!)
