au0rey starts with ... Hi all, I am looking at buying an apple tree for my garden. As the garden is not big, I do not have many options. i want to get an apple tree which as the title says has the best nutrients. I am not sure if all apple varieties are the same in terms of nutritional value. Would appreciate some input and suggestions before I decide. Thanks. | About the Author au0rey MULGRAVE (VIC),3170,VIC 21st July 2017 11:45am #UserID: 1600 Posts: 165 View All au0rey's Edible Fruit Trees |
Figbarron says... An exerpt from this website "e;e;In order of antioxidant levels, the varieties ranked: Red Delicious (2,012), Northern Spy (1,548), Ida Red (1,479), Cortland (1,323), Golden Delicious (1,265), McIntosh (1,163), Mutsu (1,017) and Empire (782). The numbers are measures of total phenolic content in parts per million."e;e; so i would say, red delicious? but it needs a pollinator. Golden delicious is partially self fertile so you need 1 since you don't have a big yard. Hope this helps Source: http://lifehacker.com/the-most-nutritious-types-of-apples-ranked-by-antioxid-1556951427?IR=T | About the Author Figbarron FRANKSTON SOUTH,3199,VIC 22nd July 2017 10:49pm #UserID: 14796 Posts: 32 View All Figbarron's Edible Fruit Trees |
