Pomegranate - Azerbaijani (Seedling) 10/10

Jaya79's Edible Fruits
Update: 1817 days 2hrs

Comments: - Huge glowing ruby fruits, big as my neighbour's 6 yr old's head - I had 15 in the first year and 25 in the second. The whole street enjoyed them. Works as a shade tree from strong summer westering sun in my front yard. So much freit, I used many to make pomegranate vinegar. Only watered weekly in Summer. Takes intense heat and dry and asks for more.

Pomegranate - Wonderful (Seedling) 7/10

Fiona11's Edible Fruits
Update: 2299 days 20hrs

Growing really well in gutless sandy soil.  Our soil is very alkaline.  Pomegranate's go for around 5.5 to 7 PH but can tolerate considerable amounts of alkalinity and sodium in the soil.  I aim these days to find plants that prefer sandy well draining soil and are happy in limestone conuntry near the sea!.  It is far easier to keep happy plants that enjoy their surrounding than try to change the surroundings to suit the plant.  Putting some structure into the soil (mulch, manue ect.) helps too.  Beautiful flowers and now having its first crop in 2018
