Pomegranate - Rosavaya (Cutting)

Kath's Edible Fruits
Update: 5199 days 9hrs

Comments: -

A lovely plant that is growing really well with little -or rather no attention.

Beautiful red leaf flush of new growth in the spring, lights up the bottom of the orchard.

On fire in the afternoon sunset as the glowing tail end of the day lights up the new growth.  Gorgeous.

Tough spot in the orchard - lives in the shaddow of the weed wall! - But on the bright side at least the wattle shading it has gone.

Weeping foliage & gorgeous flowers make this a lovely plant to have in the orchard.

All flower dropped 2010, 2011, tried hand pollinating - crossing with a Wonderful.

Picked my first fruit February 2012 & made some delicious and beautifully colourde pomegranate dressing.

Question: I have not had much luck with my pomegranate. At the moment it looks like it is dying. I am considering repotting into a small pvc garbage bin with holes drilled in the bottom. I will hope and watch that it survives. After reading this post and others, it seems I might have to buy another to help me get some fruit.

Had it in a pot and it didn't really get enough food and water to keep it happy. Now it's in the ground and is growing well. Lightly pruning it to keep it compact and bushy.

Anni8's Edible Fruits

Comments: - Very healthy, very tall about 7 feet and overall very happy with the tree but ......

Water Given in: Winter

Autumn and Winter

Pest Control: Nothing as doesn't appear to have any diseases.

Question: The first flower of the year in Spring is always a female flower but no male flowers to pollinate it.  All the other flowers that come a few days later are male flowers so I never get any fruit as by that stage my one female flower has died.   Is there anything I can do to increase the female to male flower ratio come next Spring?

Pomegranate - Azerbaijani (Cutting)

Edward3's Edible Fruits
Update: 3422 days 3hrs

Comments: - Plant grew very well to 1.4m but then developed collar rot and lost all leaves in summer. Since the damage near ground was so severe, I removed it and replaced with a new plant grown earlier from cutting (fairly easy). Am ensuring mulch is kept clear of the trunk.
