A large attractive tree with spreading branches and lovely white and yellow pompom type flowers. The pods look similar to a tamarind pod. Surrounding the inedible black seeds is a thick white juicy pulp that tastes very much like vanilla ice-cream. A primocane variety producing fruit on canes that arise from the ground during one season. Often referred to as low chill since canes do not need chilling to produce flowers.
