Dwarf Plum Gulf Gold Tree (G)

$40.95 ($34.95-$79.00 choose a size)

This golden plum is firm with excellent flavour & texture and a small seed. 350 hours chill. This dwarf plum is an ideal backyard variety and perfect for pots. An excellent all-round variety with the added bonus that it doesn't seem to be attractive to fruit fly as much as other stonefruit. Partially self pollinating but benefits from pollination with Gulf Ruby. Attractive in spring when it is smother in white blossoms.

Green Sapote

A close relative of the Mamey Sapote but more compact and cold hardier. The green fruit turns to gold when ripe and has a superior sweeter flavour to the Mamey. Seeds can be roasted and eaten. Good drainage is essential.

Miracle Fruit

$24.90 ($17.75-$79.00 choose a size)

Although not sweet itself this miraculous fruit, consumed fresh and allowed to coat the mouth alters your tastebuds so that everything you eat tastes sweet, lasting for an hour or two. It's extraordinary. The beauty of it is that it only removes the sourness 'acidity' from what you are eating, the natural aroma and taste remains. It has been used to sweeten bitter medicines. For success the plant prefers a pH as low as 4.5. A great companion for your blueberries. Requires a sheltered position free from frost and partial shade. Excellent unusual potted plant that can be moved into a hot spot during the cooler months. Very slow growing and best to grow as a potted planted until at least 1 metre high Further Information: Rare Fruit Review
