Will fruit as early as March in the subtropics. Fuyu is a semi-dwarf variety, well suited to growing in small backyards and can be kept to 2m with pruning. The fruit is large and flat, orange-red in colour with a sweet, mild flavour. Great eaten crunchy but just luscious when left to go soft. Besides producing delicious fruit, Persimmons are highly ornamental with their beautiful autumn foliage. Non astringent, so can be eaten when still hard. When young, protect from hot afternoon sun, and when dormant, from wet conditions. Seedless when grown on their own. If cross pollinating with another variety they can have seeds in the flesh as shown in the display picture.

The lower acidity and reduced sourness makes it one of the most widely grown lemons for the home-garden. Very hardy and prolific. The fruits are deep orange-yellow in colour with thin skin and they are very juicy, making them perfect for use in dressings and marinades. The meyer is low in pectin. The dwarf rootstock, flying dragon modifies the top growth making this a dwarf plant that is ideal to use planted out or as a pot specimen.

This is a "must have" tree for making Thai curries. Also, can add 5-6 leaves to fried rice for an excellent alternative. Mine is happily growing in a pot w full sun. Treat citrus leaf miner & grass-hopper with Yates Pyrethrum / Pest Oil every 2-3 weeks
