Update after 727 days: Man, these are very fast growers. Obtained a large cutting from a job I was doing. In a matter of weeks it's got a full head of leaves and is throwing out heaps of suckers. Don't know if they are worth the space yet. Apparently...

easy to grow, will take off if left to it's own devices. elderflowers are used in cosmetics, dipped in batter and fried, the berries make a tart jam and also a nice elderberry wine.
