This small fig occurs along watercourses along the east coast of Australia. An attractive small tree with sandpapery leaves and edible fruit. Grows densely in full sun, less so in shade. Very good for stream bank stabilisation.

Davidsonia jerseyana is the southern form, it fruits in the summer months and is generally a smaller plant than the northern Davidsonia pruriens. I have had my tree from several years and it has only JUST produced a fruit! It hated full fun and now it is in semi shade and fruit bud was appearing then grasshoppers virtually destoyed my plant overnight.. and nothing else in my garden!
