Avocado - Hass (A)

$54.00 ($54.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Most popular variety due to both its superior taste and excellent keeping qualities. Medium sized, pear-shaped fruit has an excellent creamy, flesh. The leathery rough dark-purple skin turns to black when ripe. H Aug-Dec. Hass is an A type variety and for good fruit set a B type variety is needed for cross pollination. Suggested varieties to grow alongside a Hass are Shepard, Sharwill, Fuerte, Bacon (if you're in a cooler climate)and Linda. Happy fresh avocado smashing.

Avocado - Fuerte (B)

$54.00 ($54.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Pear shaped fruit, small to medium in size with slightly rough, thin green skin. The flesh is of a buttery texture with excellent flavour. Vigorous spreading tree that bears biennially. Harvest April - June

Dwarf Mulberry - Black

$34.00 ($19.75-$79.00 choose a size)

This mulberry has a very low chill factor making it ideal for our subtropical climate. Pruning after fruiting allows it to be kept under 3mtrs, and also encourages multiply cropping throughout the summer. It is best to pick the fruit when ripe, as it doesn't ripen further off the tree. A benefit of a mulberry tree is that the fruit ripens over an extended period of time unlike other fruit that often ripens all at once. The fruits of the black mulberry, considered the tastiest and most versatile of the mulberries are large and juicy with a good balance of sweetness and tartness. The fruit of the dwarf black mulberry is the same as that on the large black mulberry that we all know and love. The fruit is large, resembling a blackberry, sweet and luscious. When not devoured fresh it is ideal to use in jams, wines and mulberry pies. (Dwarf Mulberry Tree Video )This variety performs excellent in the Subtropics. There has been feedback that this variety doesn't perform as well in Temperate Climates.

Mandarin - Afourer Murcott

$39.00

Recently imported Tangor, with rich, sweet juicy flavour. The tree is moderate in size and vigor. Thin, smooth, orange rind that is easy to peel. The fruit is low-seeded in the absence of cross-pollination, but seedy when cross-pollinated.

Dwarf Persimmon - Fuyu (NA)

$79.00 ($79.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Fuyu is a semi-dwarf variety, well suited to growing in small backyards and can be kept to 2m with pruning. The fruit is large and flat, orange-red in colour with a sweet, mild flavour. Great eaten crunchy but just luscious when left to go soft. Besides producing delicious fruit, Persimmons are highly ornamental with their beautiful autumn foliage. Non astringent, so can be eaten when still hard. When young, protect from hot afternoon sun, and when dormant, from wet conditions. Seedless when grown on their own. If cross pollinating with another variety they can have seeds in the flesh as shown in the display picture.

Pomegranate - Azerbaijani

$39.00 ($24.00-$79.00 choose a size)

The flavour of the arils of this variety is something else. Gulosha azerbaijani produces medium to large sized, slightly elongated fruit with a pinkish hue, but the internal arils surrounding the seed are deep red, large and very juicy.

Orange - Washington Navel

My neighbours, my family and I just tasted the first oranges of two of these orange plants I bought two years ago. We all agreed that they taste very delicious and juicy. I consider it was worth waiting for 2 years to taste my first home grown orange.

This plant has been thriving in our area. Grew very quickly as soon as it arrived. Does draw the caterpillars just as quickly though.

MIDDLE RIDGE, QLD, Australia

This is an easy to grow fruit tree with good quality and productivity. Fruit may need thinning early on to let the vegetation grow faster and not spend its energy producing fruit of poor quality in the first few seasons.

This poor tree is not happy. It's planted between a Eureka Lemon and Tahitian Lime - both of which are doing extremely well. But the Orange tree is sulking.

I've struggled with this but then found out the soil was holding too much water.  It was dug up and the soil area raised about a foot, then pruned the tree back.  Since then it's sprouted a lot of new growth, but it has set it back.
