A dwarf coffee selection suitable for handpicking. Prolific cropper of quality roasting beans. Makes an ideal choice for growing in a pot in small yards and as an ornamental. An internationally important cultivar due to its compact size for efficient picking and crop protection. A mid season producer of quality beans. The lineage of this cultivar is Mundo Novo x Caturra and it was released in Brazil in the 70s. For good production plant in rich free draining soil in full sun to part shade location with regular watering. Coffee fruits can also be eaten and have a pleasant sweetish taste. Red Catuai is the main variety grown commercially in Nth Qld and does have some susceptibility to leaf rust and other common coffee plant pests.

Fast growing rainforest tree. The species is well regarded for its timber and as a key in regenerating rainforest. The fruit of this species is round and blue, between 20 and 30 mm across, and has a seed with deep convolutions in its shell. These are eaten whole by cassowaries, woompoo pigeon and spectacled flying foxes, which pass the nut undamaged. A large tree up to 50 metres tall, usually with elaborate buttressed roots. Flowers, fruit, foliage and shape make this an ideal tree for large gardens or parks.

Taro - Black Magic

A highly ornamental pond plant with burgundy stems and leaves, it is also called Elephant Ears due to the shape of the leaves. They are an ideal edge plant for ponds where they can be submerged to a depth of 15cm. Best grown in pots so they do not overcrowd and dominate the pond. They can also be grown in moist, partially shaded spots, in the garden although they will tolerate full sun if they receive plenty of water. Black magic taro also make an attractive house plant. Davidson Plum NSW

An outstanding small tree that prefers warm conditions and some shade. The sour purple fruits have bright red flesh that makes excellent jam. Davidsonia jerseyana is the southern form, it fruits in the summer months and is generally a smaller plant than the northern Davidsonia pruriens.
