I want to plant a dwarf mango tree in my backyard in Syd. Most information just mention "dwarf" but do not give the height. Also I wanted to know the type as well.

I think the variety depends on what is grafted onto the dwarfing rootstock. For example, Palmer is the one that I have seen for sale locally, but I have also heard of other dwarf varieties. I was told that they would be around 2 metres in height but you can prune them to keep them the size you wish.

I would go with the Irwin Dwarf Mango Tree Also it is good because it is resistant to black spot.
Otherwise a Glen Mango
If you don't have a dwarf variety remember you can always keep it small in pots or with efficient pruning.
To get your mango's quicker I would go with a grafted variety of mango which your glen and irwin are otherwise if people find it difficult to grow mangoes in your area it might be best to go with the cheaper seedling mango due to their resilience.
