Can anyone identify this tree for me.
It was growing alongside my Jaboticaba when I bought it. It came from dayleys so I am hoping it might be another fruit tree. Any ideas?

It does look like one.
Do the leaves thicken as they get older?

I can only think of Ficus sp. - as the new leaves are characteristically spirally rolled up before they unfold.
For Ficus macrophylla I am missing the characteristic brown leave underside.
Unfortunately only a slim chance of another fruit tree and also I would bear in mind that Ficus in general has huge trees with mostly very invasive/even destructive roots, so planting near the house is probably not good to do...

Jason says...
Probably Ficus rubiginosa, which should be native around that area, you can sometimes see it in Botanic gardens

I've got one too! Came in a pot from Daleys. Mine looks like Ficus rubiginosa, though the leaves are rather large so I'm not sure yet. But I am sure it is vigorous. It's heading for life in a paddock.
