Hi, Does anyone have or know of someone who is growing Julie or St Julian mangos. It's a very common and popular variety from the West Indies. I'd love to hear from you and get some seed. Also does anyone have any of the West Indian varieties of avocados growing. Please get in touch. Thanks in advance,
Ken

Hi, Did have a "daughter " of Julie here in Brisbane but it did not fruit well. The tree was a grafted seedling ,sounds crazy I know but graft material came from a seedling grown fruit tree.I tried for 5 yrs to let it fruit and every time it fruited, 3 yrs running, it did not set well and those that set flavour was not up to scratch so it made way for a better cultivar.Sorry I cant help you source one.

Hi Mike,

What are the top five mangoes that you would recommend? I’ve got Maha Chanook and Nam Doc Mai, as well as seedlings of KP, R2E2 and Honey Gold. The Honey Gold fruited last season for the first time and was truly brilliant!

How do you find honey gold for Anthracnose? My honey gold seedling flowers but get hammered by Anthracnose. In my yard ndm/arkp Seem pretty resistant, Kwan moderately resistant, Palmer susceptible and honeygold very susceptible. Mike gave me some zill seedling scions and no blooms but from tender growth sweet tart and ppk seem somewhat resistant and lz/os susceptible.

Haven’t noticed any anthracnose as of yet, but will keep an eye on it. My Honey Gold is a slow, compact grower though. Not sure if that’s normal or not.

I grafted mine to an older tree so it's been pretty vigorous. Not sure I got the poly seedling though so will have to fruit it before I can say much else.
