Mandarin - Shiranui

$79.00

Easy to peel, sweet and seedless. These flavoursome mandarins have an unusual bump near the stem that resembles the hair bun of a sumo wrestler. Self pollinating and with some cold tolerance. Shiranui is a Tangor type of mandarin, being a cross between sweet mandarin and sweet orange hybrid, the Ponkan mandarin and the Kyomi tangor.

Loquat - Nagasakiwase

$54.00 ($54.00-$99.00 choose a size)

The best Japanese variety so far, it has deep orange flesh, high flesh/seed ratio and very sweet flavour. Earliest variety to ripen. Thinning fruit will enhance fruit size. The Nagasakiwase often has 2 crops a year in the subtropics. The first crop in April / May then again in August. We have found by cincturing in summer, the August crop has a much larger crop and better fruit size.

This is a self fertile cultivar from New Zealand. It is a small, productive, vigorous tree growing to about 2.5m making it ideal for smaller back yards. Fruit has a good, mildly aromatic flavour. It is medium sized with flesh that is smooth, soft and juicy. Fruits ripen early in the season. Performs well in cooler areas. The fruit handles well and is a good keeper.
