Fruit is typically a deep, brilliant red, but may vary from white to purple. Flesh colour is similar to outer colour, or somewhat lighter. Flesh is sweet and tart with berry flavours. Single seeded. Besides eating fresh, the fruits may be dried, canned, soaked in liquor. The bayberry is an evergreen dioecious tree with separate male and female plants. Our seedlings are not sexed and it is recommended to grow at least 3 to be assured of at least one female.

An attractive large pine tree that bears cones of edible nuts. These are considered a delicacy in Mediterranean style cooking, due to their sweet, buttery flavour. Trees can be expected to start producing cones from about year 6. But can take longer. Each cone holds about 50 nuts and 100 kg of cones holds about 20 kg of nuts. Grows best in dry cooler areas with excellent drainage. Trees can set nuts on their own, but cones may be poorly filled. Plant two or more to improve nut set.

Dwarf Mango - King Thai

A semi-dwarf tree making it ideal for backyards, it produces elongated fruits with a very small seed. Flesh is sweet, succulent, fibreless and aromatic with a slight tang. The fruits start out with green skin and ripen to yellow with pink-red blushed fruit. Compact, branching, slightly upright tree growing to 3-4m tall and 2-3m wide. Shows good resistance to anthracnose and black spot. The fruit of a clone of King Thai mango are sold commercially as Maha Bliss in Australian Markets.
