Dwarf Mulberry - Red Shahtoot

$99.00 ($29.00-$99.00 choose a size)

Much more compact in growth habit than the King White Shahtoot. These delicious sweet fruits can reach 10cm in length. Ideal for back yards and we consider it a must have fruit tree for the back yard. The best way to eat mulberries is fresh from the tree. If some should make it to the kitchen bench they make excellent pies, jams, wines and sauces. Multiple crops are possible by pruning directly after your first crop. Suitable for most regions of Australia, although it can be susceptible to damage from late frosts. The red shahtoot is ideal for growing in pots and containers due to it small growing habit and it is ideal for school gardens as it does not produce fruits that stain and the sweet fruits are very appealing to children. This variety is best suited to warm subtropical climates and does not perform well in temperate climate where it tends to drop their fruit.

Dwarf Persimmon - Fuyu (NA)

$79.00 ($79.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Fuyu is a semi-dwarf variety, well suited to growing in small backyards and can be kept to 2m with pruning. The fruit is large and flat, orange-red in colour with a sweet, mild flavour. Great eaten crunchy but just luscious when left to go soft. Besides producing delicious fruit, Persimmons are highly ornamental with their beautiful autumn foliage. Non astringent, so can be eaten when still hard. When young, protect from hot afternoon sun, and when dormant, from wet conditions. Seedless when grown on their own. If cross pollinating with another variety they can have seeds in the flesh as shown in the display picture.

Sudachi - Grafted

$34.00

As well known as the Yuzu in Japan where this sour citrus originates it is considered an indispensable companion to eating matsutake mushroom. The freshly squeezed juice is used as an alternative to vinegar. Fruits form in tight clusters and are harvested when still green in Autumn although they do turn yellow-orange when fully ripe. Commonly used as a garnish the aroma is zestier than lemons or limes. This variety has some cold sensitivity and is best grown in sub-tropical to tropical areas.

Orange - Navelina

$39.00

A Spanish variety. Navelina produces fruit of excellent quality and brilliant colour, very early in the season. Good fruit size and naturally develops an outstanding deep red orange skin which is very attractive. This is grown on a more vigorous rootstock than the dwarf variety.

Lemon - Meyer

$37.00 ($37.00-$39.00 choose a size)

The popular Meyer is not a true lemon but likely to be a natural hybrid between a lemon and an orange. The lower acidity and reduced sourness makes it one of the most widely grown home-garden varieties. Very hardy and prolific. The fruits are a deep orange-yellow colour with thin skin and they are very juicy, making them perfect for use in dressings and marinades. The meyer is low in pectin.

Wax Jambu - White

$54.00 ($39.00-$79.00 choose a size)

A popular selection in Asia, the sweetest selection. Very similar to the Red Wax Jambu however has white waxy skin and is sweeter, but it is much more cold sensitive. They generally don't have seeds but may on rare occasions, depending on pollination.

ACACIA RIDGE, QLD, Australia

This has been grafted to a tree as a "double graft" with a White Satin nectarine. Both species do not require a cross-pollinating partner, so this was simply a space-saving way to cram more food types into the yard.I am so happy with it!It flowered and...

Beautiful flowers, cute fruit. Hoped shape would encourage kids to eat more home grown produce being good lunchbox shape and size. Doesn't have the "oh my god" taste of the awesome Tropical Beauty, but pleasant enough. Branches in all directions, very ...

Peach - Angel Subtropical

We had the best crop of peaches this year only the second year, and I put this down to a couple of reasons...applying fruit fly baits early, having our 5 chooks roaming in the patch and lots of water up until the recentnt rain.

Tree was planted in September and has two fruit on the tree- the birds got one and the other ripened to a beautiful flavour.  Hopefully we will have more fruit next year when the tree grows a big bigger.  Healthy growth and pretty foliage.
