A friend offered me a Fina de Jete , Spain's best selling cherimoya. And ,yes, it is really good ; shame it is so hard to obtain.

Daley's sells them. Put a reminder in Daley's system and they will contact you when they become available.
I will be trying mine for the first time this year. There is only a couple of fruits on the tree, more than enough to get a good sample.

Best common variety that's for sure. You can occasionally find better seedlings in the Americas but Fino is good enough.

Reminder to Daleys-- Fina is the bestest cherimoya and there are lots of customers with their tongues hanging out waiting for it.

Where can I try one of these cherimoyas?
When I was in Cabramatta all they had were custard apples.

Just imagine a bit of sherbet sprinkled in a custard apple, bit more acid and you are pretty much at a Cherimoya. Cherimoyas are better in every way but still quite similar

Tommoz, there are few things that are more worth growing than cherimoyas.

Some of the varieties considered the big guns of cherimoya varieties include,
Madeira
Spain
Sabor
Honeyhart
El bumpo
I have it on good authority the seeds of at least one of these will be hitting our shores in the near future.

I believe most have been here and are probably somewhere here. I've seen the remnants of the big local collection here that was taken down by soilborne nasties. Very sad sight! I think Honeyhart is newish and wouldnt be here, but the oterhs, besides Madeira, I think have been noted as in Australian collections?

I had to pick this Fina a couple of days ago because the fruit was starting to split. The taste was still exquisite despite it's small size. Beautiful creamy flavour with more acid than Atemoya and zero graininess like you get with African Pride. Absolutely loved it.

"Deliciousness in itself" were his exact words.
Also picked a Tropic Sun due to splitting, now waiting for it to soften.

I'll let you know Michael. Probably take a few days to ripen. It's a bit small, looks more like a Sugar apple than an atemoya. I've got no idea how big a typical Tropic sun gets. The other one on the tree is the same size, hope it doesn't split and grows to full term. Michael, did you eventually sell your Jujube tree?

Are Fina Cherimoya's naturally small? The fruits pictured below are a representation of the size from my young tree.
