Mini greenhouses now at Bunnies (forum)

The $99 mini greenhouses are back at Bunnings. They have shelves, are easy to erect & now have clear plastic covering.
I have had the original for over 2 years & would say well worth the money, but dont depend on the Zip door. ( it wont last) I have moved my greenhouse once without any probs, but suggest that you use plenty of large tent pegs to hold it down & even concrete edgers along the prevailing wind side. The plastic on mine is the laminated green mesh type & is deterioting fast, so maybe the new clear stuff is similiar to the polyhouse quality I had in Vic. that lasted for 6 years easy!

Nice! I had the original but the plastic only lasted 1 years before it started to fall to bits. I was going to recover it but if I can get a new one with better plastic I might do that

Yes I am hoping the new covering is the same quality used for plastic igloos. My 3 tiered igloo in Vic. was still going strong with minimum damage( caused by me) after 7 years.
I havent bought a mini yet so dont know. I might be cheeky next time in Bunnies & make a grand entrance into one of the packs!

gidday snottie i got my green house at bunnings in september and now the plastic has gone yellow and brittle
near the bottom on one corner.it was the smaller type not the bigger ones they have know ..it wont stop me getting another one.

Sorry to hear that grub. Maybe you sprayed something near that corner. Even my 3 tiered igloo in Vic had the occasional obvious discolouration & ( melt away) spots due to something I had done. Although growing organic I was not adverse to personal fly spray & I have a feeling it may be the culprit.
Bunnies also stock GRUNT builders clear plastic in 2 m widths to any length so I am just going to reinforce my greenhouse using those STANLEY black graphite spring clamps to hold everything in place. Best things since sliced beetroot!

The only thing I miss in WA is Aldi! So much cheaper than the others, but I must share your doubts regards quality. Still one good year of early start vegies & late tomatoes would surely make it worthwhile for that price!

Be careful with those mini greenhouses...that plastic is not UV stable and falls to bits after a certain amount of sun exposure (as mine did) :-(

Would they be sturdy enough without the shelves? They don't stand up to rough weather all that well as it is..?

You might need to make your own one IIijas?
