Mandarin - Emperor (Grafted) 7/10

Terrastrega's Edible Fruits
Update: 2313 days 17hrs

Comments: -

Just purchased my Emperor Mandarin tree few weeks ago. Its in a pot (38cm diameter & 35cm height). Potting mix is Richgrow rose and citrus potting mix, fertilise with bit of blood and bond and fruit and citrus premium fertiliser, and a dash of potash. I use Tee Tree Mulch but leave about 2 inches unmulched around the trunk of the tree. The nursery advice to water twice a day here on Brisbane, so I have been doing that so far.

It looks healthy and doing well. It gets full sun till about 2 - 3pm each day, after which it gets partial sun. Height of tree from soil line upwards is about 74cm. potting mix and fertiliser and so far all seem healthy.

Late 2013, Update: Tree is still in a big pot although not the dwarf varity. Has plenty of flowers and little fruit forming (Early September). Will be transfering in the ground after fruiting. Had not done so earlier as we were renting but now have bought a house and can start putting my trees in the ground!

June 2014: It is finally in the ground. trimmed it right back and now lots of new growth on it.

Dwarf Mandarin - Emperor (Grafted) 8/10

Homegrownsbest's Edible Fruits
Update: 2436 days 6hrs

Comments: -

Just planted November 2015.

It's currently in full sun. I water almost daily depending on weather. I planted in a 75 litre planter bag with a BIG bottom layer of course grade pine bark then kind of equal amounts of good quality potty mix, coir peat, perlite and a shovel of organic pellets mixed through. A really good layer of small pine bark on top.

Planted: 2015

Height 60 Centimetres

Growing: In a Pot

Qty: 1

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Pollination: Self Pollination

Fertiliser or Organics Used: organic pellets and osmocote citrus slow release

Pest Control: none as yet

do you have any updates on this tree? How tall did it grow? how much fruit per year? Thank you for your time.

Dwarf Mandarin - Imperial 9/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 2673 days 3hrs

Comments: - Espaliered. Did not fruit until 3rd year of planting (I assume it was establishing itself). One dwarf is not enough in long run if there are two or more people in household who like mandarins. Have heard it can produce lower harvest bi-yearly but not seen that happen yet.
