DECEMBER 2019

A small tree, exceptional yellow fruit with a free stone.  This peach has done well in our yard.  It seemed clear of curl leaf when I purchased but have sprayed just to make sure it's okay. with copper hydroxide.  Is planted in between an apricot and a nectarine in full sun along a fence with north west exposure and seems to be enjoying it.  Flowered this year but removed buds (only 2 year old tree)

Height 1.2 metres

Qty: 1

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Pollination: Self Pollination

Fertiliser or Organics Used: Compost, chook manure, dynamic lifter

When I Fertilise: Winter and Spring

Comments: - my daughter gave it to me, it has big fruit, very juicy, and its healthy, seems to require less attention than all my other large fruit trees. the birds have a hard time noticing it and i don't have to cover it,i just have to keep the grand kids off the fruit.

I bought a dwarf tree thinking it would be a good idea for a suburban backyard. The dear little tree manages to produce a nice crop of fruits every year (though we have to fight off the earwigs) but I have learned NOT to buy dwarf trees. Horizontal space is the hardest to find in the backyard, bot vertical space. The ideal shape for a small garden tree is tall and thin. Like those 'Ballerina" apple trees. Not short and squat. The poor little tree just gets shaded by anything bigger that's nearby. In future I would buy a normal sized peach and just keep pruning it to size.

Thanks for this - you saved me from making a big mistake! Of course we want to go up, not out, when we have limited space!

I have one not much bigger that is three years old (in Brisbane). They seem to be very slow growing.
